Short Course Golf Program
Castletroy Golf Club has been running a very successful Short Course Golf (SCG) programme for many years now.
SCG is aimed at all junior members that are new to golf, who do not have an official World Handicap System Index. The program aims to help junior members to develop the necessary skills and etiquette of the game that will lead them toward the goal of getting a WHS Index assigned. Once a member has a handicap, they will then be eligible to enter our Junior Golf Competitions that run each week through the school holiday period.
With the help of a dedicated team of volunteers, both members and parents, junior members are taken out on the course, across a selection of four holes, where they are shown the basic skills and etiquette of the game, where good sportsmanship and friendship is encouraged.
Our team of volunteer are ably supported with coaching lessons, provided by our excellent on-site teaching professionals, Gary Howie and Jack Ryan.
The SCG programme runs Monday Wednesday and Friday during the school holiday period and throughout the summer.
Our SCG programme is the envy of many clubs across the region, and we would highly recommend that all those new to golf, actively participate in this programme.
